Maintenance Technician I

Essential Functions

• Use hand tools and power tools to install, set up, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production equipment, material handling equipment, and building systems.
• Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance of production equipment.
• Conduct repair and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair and maintenance of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Interpret blueprints and/or schematics for assigned equipment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and safety laws, regulations, and policies.
• Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Assist in maintenance of facility systems and utilities.
• Physical Requirements: Lift up to 75 lbs. Work in a standing position for up to 8 hours. Work in a sitting, kneeling, or crouching position continuously for up to 2 hours. Use non-powered tools to tighten or loosen fasteners. Climb, descend, and stand on ladders and stairs.
• Skills Required: Willing to work with and around cleaning chemicals and oily parts. Perform basic shop mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Correctly measure and record dimensions of equipment and parts. Completely and correctly sketch custom parts and tools. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions. Use powered and non-powered hand tools. Read and write memos, emails, and correspondence. Enter, edit, read, and interpret maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedules. Hold a valid Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Read technical documentation pertaining to assigned equipment to be maintained and/or repaired. Experience with Outlook and general computer skills. Experience with, or the ability and desire to learn to use a scissor lift or boom lift. Ability to access tight spaces to work on equipment.
