About the role
This position is responsible for providing maintenance services to keep the facility buildings, grounds, and equipment in good repair, contributing to the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents and employees.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work requests and preventative maintenance work orders as assigned by supervisor or department director, including but not limited to:
- Appliance repair
- Light carpentry work
- Routine motor vehicle maintenance
- Routine plumbing repair
- Routine repairs on heating/air conditioning systems
- Low voltage applications
- Swimming pools
- Fire alarms
- Provide housekeeping services on occasion and as needed
- Inspect facilities, systems, and components to ensure safety, cleanliness, and identify necessary repairs
- Use a variety of hand tools, small power tools, and other power tools
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition
- Perform general labor and assist with event set-ups, deliveries, and moves
- Troubleshoot building and equipment issues as they arise
- Learn and expand trade knowledge of maintenance and facilities
- Assist other maintenance staff as needed
- Be available for inclusion in the on-call schedule
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Basic skill knowledge of machinery, equipment, and systems within the field
- Ability to diagnose and repair various equipment
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to problem solve and work in a team
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and communicate
Physical Requirements
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate various equipment based on department and weather conditions
- Engage in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers
- Clarity of vision:
- Near visual acuity at approximately 20 inches or less (e.g., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers
- Far visual acuity at 20 feet or more, including the ability to recognize features
- Peripheral vision to observe an area up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
Pay
$14.44 - $18.80 per hour
