About the role
Greystar is seeking a Development Analyst to support the execution of the company’s development platform. This role involves conducting financial analyses of development opportunities, preparing documentation for real estate transaction evaluations, and interacting with brokers, capital partners, institutional clients, and the Development team. The Analyst will also monitor and report on the status of real estate transactions within assigned geographic markets and support the tracking of projects under execution and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial analyses of development opportunities, including creating financial models and projections (proformas).
- Gather, research, and analyze market information to identify development opportunities.
- Prepare development memoranda, detailed reports, and market summaries related to proposed acquisitions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with real estate brokers, institutional and capital partners, financial entities, property owners, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and research potential acquisitions and other real estate transactions, collaborating on financial and market documentation for new business and RFP processes.
- Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, Investments, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with deadlines and budgets.
- Organize, lead, and/or participate in due diligence processes for properties under contract.
- Monitor and report on the progress of development transactions, establishing timelines and managing risks to ensure timely closings.
- Support the tracking and control of projects under execution and delivery.
- Prepare financial, administrative, and management reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards related to project development.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Professional degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Economics, Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or related fields.
- Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and cash flow projections.
- Fluent in English.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
