Maintenance Technician Generalist

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain the physical condition and appearance of residential properties and other Mayroad assets (pool, community center, playgrounds, ice rinks, dog parks, community garden, etc.)
• Perform structural, paint, plumbing, HVAC (for positions located in CA, FL, NC, and KS), steam (for positions located in AK), pressure washing, cleaning, electrical, and other maintenance tasks based on assigned core duties

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; may be offset by experience
• Ability to pass a state and federal background check to obtain access to the Air Force installation
• Ability to pass a 12-panel pre-employment drug test
• Valid, unrestricted REAL-ID compliant driver’s license required to drive on the Air Force installation
• Ability to read, understand, interpret, and communicate work-related information and documentation in English, both verbally and in writing
• Experience performing residential maintenance and repair work across multiple skilled trades, including carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and HVAC systems (for positions located in CA, FL, NC, and KS) or steam systems (for positions located in AK)
• Universal EPA 608 HVAC certification or steam experience based on location requirements
• Personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation
• Personal smart phone for on-the-job communication

Work Environment

• Performing repairs/construction in a residential environment
• Regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Working in a non-climate-regulated environment
• Exposure to extreme heat/cold, temperature changes, noise (85+ decibels), hazardous materials, power tools, industrial hazards, electric shock, ice and slipping hazards, heights, and falling hazards
• Limited daily time in an office environment

Physical Demands

• Heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force required
• Frequently required to walk, climb, lift, carry, balance, reach, grasp, handle, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

Pay

Hourly wage: $20.80 – $25.13
