Maintenance Technician - Full Time

About the role

As a member of our hospitality team, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for efficiently and effectively carrying out repairs, maintenance, alterations, and installations following departmental procedures. This role ensures the safety, functionality, and appearance of the hotel property by conducting preventative maintenance, assessing and prioritizing tasks, and resolving issues promptly. The Maintenance Engineer also provides exceptional guest service, responds to guest service calls professionally, and contributes to a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Diligently identify defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, and take corrective action while adhering to departmental procedures and maintaining detailed records.
• Ensure strict adherence to all insurance, local, county, state, and federal government codes, laws, and requirements related to maintenance activities.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following established safety protocols and guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify defects and malfunctions in the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems.
• Respond promptly to all service calls to address maintenance issues and guest requests, performing expert repairs and restoration in all areas of the hotel, including rooms, public spaces, and mechanical rooms.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship to uphold the hotel's image and reputation.
• Execute routine preventative maintenance tasks on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure reliability and extend asset life.
• Inspect and maintain building systems to prevent potential issues.
• Perform specific maintenance repairs related to new construction projects as assigned through service requests, collaborating with other teams to integrate new systems seamlessly.
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance for carpentry and painting tasks to maintain the hotel's aesthetics.
• Respond to guest complaints with exceptional courtesy and promptness.
• Accurately document all work performed, parts needed, and parts used on service requests.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
