Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Performs basic carpentry work as needed, general sheetrock repair, interior and exterior painting, general maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout the campus.
- Affords assistance to the other trades as requested.
- Engages in general maintenance duties including moving furniture, setting up for and working at special events, conducting building checks during holidays when buildings are unoccupied, and on-call duty.
- Executes routine preventative maintenance tasks such as greasing equipment, oiling motors, changing belts, changing air filters, changing light bulbs, etc.
- Attends training sessions required by the supervisor.
Knowledge And Skills
- Experience: Two years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A high school education or GED.
- Interpersonal Skills: Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Contact usually involves routine, non-sensitive issues.
- Other Skills: Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Contact usually involves routine, non-sensitive issues withstand extreme hot and cold working conditions, loud noise environments; lift 100 pounds; walk and/or stand for long periods of time, and climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Physical Requirements: The work requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing, repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending or stooping, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as computers, printers or record boxes. Occasionally lifts heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
