Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on aboveground tanks
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair fuel pumps, dispensers, valves, piping, hoses, and meters
- Install and replace pumps, motors, filters, and related fueling system components
- Conduct routine inspections for leaks, corrosion, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards
- Absorb fuel tank cleaning, maintenance, and equipment upgrades
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues associated with fueling systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations regarding fuel handling and spill prevention
- Respond to emergency service calls, fuel system failures, and after-hours maintenance requests as needed
- Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with management, customers, and fellow employees regarding maintenance activities and equipment status
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two (2) years of mechanical maintenance experience preferred
- Experience with petroleum equipment, fuel systems, pumps, tanks, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for completing maintenance records and reports
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, kneel, crouch, bend, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and flame-resistant clothing when required
Safety And Compliance Requirements
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Comply with applicable regulations including those of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and applicable Department of Transportation regulations
- Immediately report safety hazards, fuel spills, incidents, and equipment failures
- Participate in required safety meetings and training programs
