Maintenance Technician - First Shift
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Adjusts, repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder, etc.
- Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.
- Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
- Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment downtime and lost production capability.
- Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment.
- Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed.
- Researches supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders.
- Aids in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.
- Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc.
- Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Supports the vision, purpose, and strategic strengths of the company.
- Fulfills safety requirements and follows applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines.
- Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or Technical School degree.
- Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
- Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to use conversions, work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc.
About the role
As a Maintenance Technician with Avient, you are responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all equipment in good operating condition as quickly and accurately as possible; while keeping associated costs to a minimum to help meet Plant goals.
Pay
Pay Range: $29-$32.50/hour
Schedule
- Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:00am-3:30pm
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 3:00am-3:30pm and Thursday 3:00am-11:30am
