About the role
The Maintenance Technician - Electrical Systems and Automation plays a critical role in ensuring facilities/manufacturing systems and equipment are running optimally. They are responsible for maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance tasks, installing and repairing electrical apparatus, and overseeing various maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintains equipment and performs preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
- Reads and troubleshoots electrical, pneumatic, and chemical drawings.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus such as transformers and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses.
- Overhauls machines or equipment, replaces/repairs defective parts, machine components and motors, and makes adjustments as required.
- Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
- Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
- Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
- Programs or monitors PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Maintains access control, security, and fire alarm systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED is required; additional education/training from a 2-year vocational/technical school is desired.
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician or at least 7+ years’ experience in a maintenance related role within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Ideal candidates have prior experience with PLC’s and maintaining access/security/fire alarm systems.
- Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED is required.
- Additional education/training from a 2-year vocational/technical school is desired.
