About the role
The Maintenance Technician position at Dulles Glen Apartments is under the direction of the Property Manager and Service Manager. The role involves general maintenance, repairs, responding to resident service requests, and adhering to safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Service Manager in managing all maintenance aspects of the community
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and janitorial services
- Perform general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors
- Assist with maintenance of storage areas and maintenance materials
- Handle turnover work for vacant units
- Walk the property daily to maintain curb appeal and monitor safety issues
- Notify Service Manager and Property Manager of safety or liability concerns and preventative maintenance needs
- Ensure accurate records of all tasks completed
- Manage inventory and storage areas, and purchase maintenance materials for service requests and apartment turns
- Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties
- Wear back support belt when lifting more than 25 lbs. or performing repetitive bending and stooping functions; use safety equipment as tasks dictate
- Respond to resident service requests in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service
- Participate in after-hours emergency requests and ensure property staff coverage 24/7
Requirements
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees
- Have the necessary skills to complete tasks outlined above
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Effective and cooperative working relationships
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of maintenance experience or valid training
- Universal CFC Certification preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers' license
- Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred
- Strong understanding of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair
- Basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical circuitry
- Current on OSHA, building, and safety standards
- Own basic tools and be knowledgeable about their safe use and maintenance

- Salary: $24.00-$25.00 per hour (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
