Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around the community grounds as assigned.

  • Completing all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment, and vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

  • Routine maintenance tasks may include fixing wall and floor coverings, repairing furniture and fixtures, performing basic plumbing work, minor electrical repairs, repairing appliances, painting, refurbishing projects, working with heating and air systems, refrigeration systems, carpet and hard surface maintenance, and “make ready” rooms as assigned.

  • Providing timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities.

  • Aiding disabled passengers into and out of vehicles, securing wheelchairs, and safely operating vehicles.

  • Maintaining all community vehicles in good working condition, cleaning and servicing them, and documenting their condition.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be 21 years or older.

  • Current commercial driver's license (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.

  • Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.

  • Knowledgeable of all safety precautions and compliance with safety measures.

  • Competent in organization, time management, and handling multiple priorities.

  • One year maintenance experience.

  • General understanding of systems including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and code compliance.

  • Possession of a general understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.

  • Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of scheduled work hours.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
