What You Will Do
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. This includes but is not limited to conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, bearings, packaging equipment and freezers. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to conveyors, pumps, mixers, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, bearings, packaging equipment, freezers, compressors and building equipment
- Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises Maintenance Supervisor if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs)
- Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns
- Able to perform under limited supervision
- Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Installs, adjusts and repairs packaging equipment to obtain the best performance according to our specifications
- Overhauls and maintains equipment during both production and non-production periods
- Troubleshoots and analyzes problems with machines and systems
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Follows GMPs when performing repairs and maintenance activities in production and storage areas, including the proper use of GMP apparel
- Fulfills guidelines when performing maintenance on food contact surfaces, including using food grade lubricants
- Fulfills guidelines to tag equipment after performing maintenance, to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation
Requirements
- The ideal candidate for this role will have 2 years of experience working with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic repairs on industrial food manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Detail orientated
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Proficient in welding and fabrication is a plus
- Have knowledge of single and three phase electrical systems
- Have knowledge of electrical control systems
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Or Other Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Other Knowledge, Skills Or Abilities Required
- Safely operates tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment
