Key Responsibilities
- Builds, installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of production and building equipment.
- Solve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various production and facility equipment.
- (Dis)assemble/install new machines, condition monitoring sensors, equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
- Replace parts by operating machine tools, welding (pending plant location) or brazier as needed.
- Follows prescribed preventative maintenance schedule in oiling, greasing and calibration of machinery.
- Collaborate with manager to develop tasks and fixtures which would improve facility processes.
- Work with vendors coming on-site for scheduled repairs.
- Double checks that safety devices are in working order on all machines and equipment.
- Provide training for new technicians.
- Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.
- Additionally, provide support to the team as needed.
Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or Technical Associates degree and 2 years experience.
- 3+ years of experience or Technical Associates degree and 2 years experience.
- Read and understand shop orders and blueprints, safety rules, standard work instructions, electrical diagrams and schematics, test sheets, completion sheets and quality assurance sheets.
- Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Basic Microsoft office required.
- Ability to use hand tools in a safe and proper manner.
- Ability to read and speak English a plus.
- Based on department, may be required to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Continuous lifting/moving 10 pounds; frequent lifting/moving up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous standing; walking; using hands to finger, handle or feel; reaching with hands and arms above shoulder height; stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; talking; hearing.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist, and working in limited space.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay of $23.00-$28.00 per hour dependent on experience.
