Maintenance Technician - Custodian

This part-time, 9-month position ensures safe, clean, and secure buildings on campus through skilled manual labor and attention to cleanliness and safety. Work is primarily indoors during the academic year, with occasional outdoor tasks such as snow shoveling and minor maintenance. Hours are approximately 20 per week, with potential evening and weekend shifts following campus events.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize designated areas
• Operate floor cleaning equipment (scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, mops)
• Remove garbage and replace liners
• Dust, polish, and wipe surfaces
• Paint walls and perform minor repairs
• Move furniture as needed
• Perform lawn maintenance and operate related equipment
• Change light bulbs and maintain fixtures
• Raise and lower the flag
• Unload and stock supplies
• Lock and secure buildings at designated times
• Follow safety procedures for equipment and hazardous materials
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Inspect designated areas for cleanliness and safety
• Perform basic record keeping and communicate effectively

Pay

Starting wage: $15.40 per hour. Wages are commensurate with education and experience.
