Maintenance Technician - Casting

Job Responsibilities

• Must have good mathematical and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Good understanding of rigging, cranes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of drafting and AUTOCAD.
• Able to work extended hours as needed.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift a weight of 40 pounds.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
• Standing for prolonged periods.
• Walking for prolonged periods.

Equipment / Tools Used

• Multi-meter.
• Basic hand tools.
• Punch tools.
• Oscilloscope.
• Laptop/PC.
• AMP probe.
• Mega ohm meter.
• MIG & Stick Welder.

Knowledge

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree from a technical college and minimum of three years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity.
• Technical Training: General knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical, robotics, or controls application.
• Other: Journeyman Certification preferred.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills or Abilities

• Motor Control, PLC, and Ladder Logic.
• Basic Electrical Theory and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of electrical components.
• Understanding of services and variable frequency drives.
• Welding experience.
• Applicable rules, regulations, and/or policies and procedures.
• Robotic troubleshooting skills.
• Robotic programming skills.
• PLC troubleshooting skills.
• High level of mechanical aptitude.
• Mathematical Skills (work well with probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations).
• Reasoning Ability (Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables).
