About the role

THIS IS A 12 HOUR ROTATING DAY SHIFT POSITION - 6AM - 6PM

The Maintenance Technician - Automation is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs on various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions
  • Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges, and inspection tools
  • Perform all required preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Check and maintain quality of product being produced by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable product in accordance with Quality policies and procedures
  • Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause
  • Follow all 5S guidelines
  • Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheets, device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables
  • Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical malfunction on a variety of machines
  • Adjust assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specifications
  • Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles
  • Assist with uploading programs to controls in the event of program loss or CPU replacement
  • Repair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.
  • Conduct TPM activities as required
  • Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)
  • Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues, and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and as-required preventive maintenance (PM)
  • Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues
  • Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of the work environment
  • Comply with all company policies
  • Troubleshoot and locate the source of problems by observing equipment operation; brainstorm with other maintenance personnel and outside technical support as needed
  • Restore damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing, or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Control downtime by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance Leader
  • Maintain good communications with the Maintenance Leader
  • Maintain an ongoing list of CMMS work orders with timelines to be addressed and completed
  • Assist other maintenance personnel as needed
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Ensure work is completed with technical excellence and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on position
  • Experience with complex assembly automation required
  • Experience in electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements
  • Ability to push and pull items and climb up and down ladders
  • Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift

Preferred Skills

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to use basic hand tools
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Work Environment

Works in a clean manufacturing environment that may include moderate noise levels and requires appropriate PPE and cleanroom apparel.

Pay

$25.00 - $40.00 USD Hourly (This is the range that we in good faith believe is the possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.)

Schedule

12-hour rotating day shift: 6AM - 6PM
