About the Role

To perform work in the operations and/or monitoring of the heating system, water system, filtration system, and general preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor heating, water, and filtration systems.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Make manual adjustments or minor repairs to facility equipment.
  • Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
  • Address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade/Technical School preferred.
  • On-the-job training.
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver’s license.
  • 3rd Class Boiler Certificate required within the first year of employment.
  • Understanding and/or experience using computer applications.
  • Familiarity with facility equipment.

Pay

Minimum hourly pay: $18.89.

Schedule

  • Full-time (80 hours per week).
  • 40 hours per week.

Location: Hooper Bay, Alaska. Department: Hooper Bay Subregional Center.
