Responsibilities
- Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy
- Aid with painting and light repairs
- Participate in special projects such as floor stripping and waxing
- Handle electrical repairs, including fixture replacement
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, ensuring safety standards
- Collaborate with other staff members to establish and maintain a high level of care
- Communicate with senior residents and share resident progress, needs, and problems
- Attend training sessions and conferences
- Implement emergency procedures
- Submit required reports in a timely manner
- Assist with other duties as directed
Requirements
- Strong maintenance skills and experience
- Experience with plumbing and electrical systems
- Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
- Extremely organized and good communicator
- Detail-oriented and problem-solving ability
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED, with 4 years of relevant handyman/maintenance experience
- At least 1 year experience working with senior populations and dependent individuals
- At least 3 years of demonstrated work experience as a handyman/building maintenance
- Able to lift at least 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods
