Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy
• Aid with painting and light repairs
• Participate in special projects such as floor stripping and waxing
• Handle electrical repairs, including fixture replacement
• Perform general maintenance and repairs, ensuring safety standards
• Collaborate with other staff members to establish and maintain a high level of care
• Communicate with senior residents and share resident progress, needs, and problems
• Attend training sessions and conferences
• Implement emergency procedures
• Submit required reports in a timely manner
• Assist with other duties as directed

Requirements

• Strong maintenance skills and experience
• Experience with plumbing and electrical systems
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
• Extremely organized and good communicator
• Detail-oriented and problem-solving ability
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED, with 4 years of relevant handyman/maintenance experience
• At least 1 year experience working with senior populations and dependent individuals
• At least 3 years of demonstrated work experience as a handyman/building maintenance
• Able to lift at least 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods
