Maintenance Technician

About the role

Safely and efficiently perform all underground and surface maintenance activities as directed. Support the safety and health goals and objectives of Canyon Fuel Company, LLC.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as assigned in a manner that maximizes safety and efficiency.
• Comply with Federal and State regulations.
• Work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds frequently.
• Traverse uneven surfaces, work overhead, climb, and use hand tools on a regular basis.
• Work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, pull, and extend.
• Work in damp and somewhat dark environments associated with an underground coal mine.

Requirements

• Industrial/mining maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to comprehend equipment schematics and blueprints.
• Technical degree will be considered a plus.
• MSHA low, medium, and high voltage electrical certification or the ability to obtain.
• Proficient use of hand tools associated with maintenance activities.

Schedule

Fossil Rock operates 7 days a week with a 4 on 4 off rotation. Initial parking is sparse and will transition to a remote parking location for transportation to and from Fossil Rock.
