Williams County Maintenance Technicians perform various maintenance and repair functions for the upkeep of County buildings, facilities, and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and groundskeeping
- Repairs minor plumbing issues, water leaks, and addresses sewer-related problems
- Executes minor electrical tasks, including changing lights and installing electrical plugs
- Maintains public grounds, including lawn maintenance, snow removal, and upkeep of walkways/parking
- Performs custodial duties, including cleaning floors and collecting garbage
- Ensures County buildings and grounds are safe and maintained; reports areas of concern to supervisor
- Repairs and maintains County equipment, including lawnmowers, tractors, trucks, and tools
- Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of maintenance and/or janitorial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Valid North Dakota Driver’s License or equivalent
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Special Working Conditions
- Some work is performed outdoors with exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather
- Some work is performed in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment
- Exposure to chemicals, sewage, and dust
- Required to lift up to 60 pounds
- Occasional work outside of regular hours
Pay
Starting pay ranges from $27.50 - $32.74 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
