Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform job tasks in a safe manner as instructed by supervisor.
• Actively participate in the site safety, quality, and 5-S teams.
• Knowledge of safe working practices such as lock out tag out, hot work and confined space.
• Understand the use of tools commonly used by crafts, and care for the same.
• Able to read fabrication and layout drawings, P&ID's, parts breakdown, and BOM's.
• Good understanding of lubrication practices and systems, vibration measurement, and laser alignment.
• Good understanding of the fundamentals of fans, blowers, compressors, conveyors, gear boxes, belt drives, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, and vacuum pumps.
• Good understanding of fundamentals of mechanical seals, and the trouble-shooting, installation, and repair of the same.
• Troubleshooting of equipment performance problems.
• Determine repairs needed and recommend replacement parts and options for solution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all environmental, safety, and health policies and safe work practices.
• Capable of basic pipe fitting skills including threading, installation, and flange make up of piping spool.
• Understanding and repair of building and grounds systems including structural, water, drains, vents, roofs, compressed air, pneumatics, and nitrogen.
• Works closely with engineers, maintenance techs, site personnel, and outside contractors.
• Participate in preventive and predictive work practices.
• Be willing to operate in a multi-craft environment including acceptance of additional duties.
• Desire and ability to work as part of a team is necessary.
• This includes a rotating on call work schedule for maintenance coverage for off hours, weekends, and Holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of maintenance experience.
