About the role

Maintenance Technician responsible for performing highly diversified duties including building, installing, and maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, and applying knowledge in a variety of skilled trade areas.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs machines and equipment in plant and related facilities.
  • Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment.
  • Performs maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and other skilled trades as appropriate.
  • Operates a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines, and equipment.
  • Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
  • Assists with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require wearing appropriate safety equipment and gear.
  • Assists with maintaining a safe and clean work environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and overall general maintenance.
  • High mechanical ability.
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience.
  • At least one year of HVAC experience.
  • At least one year of pneumatic experience.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • MIG & TIG welding experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
  • Solid work ethic with a commitment to consistent on-time work attendance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or trade school certification or certificate program completion.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance role in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Outlook or other email systems.
  • Master Plumber and/or Master Electrician certification.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, place, carry, and push objects up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Able to climb a ladder.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, crawl, or stoop for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in an uncontrolled environment and in outdoor elements.
