About the role
Maintenance Technician responsible for performing highly diversified duties including building, installing, and maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, and applying knowledge in a variety of skilled trade areas.
Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, and repairs machines and equipment in plant and related facilities.
- Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment.
- Performs maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and other skilled trades as appropriate.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines, and equipment.
- Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
- Assists with contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require wearing appropriate safety equipment and gear.
- Assists with maintaining a safe and clean work environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and overall general maintenance.
- High mechanical ability.
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience.
- At least one year of HVAC experience.
- At least one year of pneumatic experience.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- MIG & TIG welding experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
- Solid work ethic with a commitment to consistent on-time work attendance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or trade school certification or certificate program completion.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance role in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Outlook or other email systems.
- Master Plumber and/or Master Electrician certification.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, place, carry, and push objects up to 50 lbs or more.
- Able to climb a ladder.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, crawl, or stoop for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in an uncontrolled environment and in outdoor elements.
