About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing the facility’s equipment maintenance process. The primary objective is to improve and sustain the value of Company assets while increasing reliability and lowering operating costs, enabling successful operation of equipment to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, prioritizing environment, health, and safety. Actively support safety initiatives, participate in Monthly Safety Meetings, and perform safety audits.
  • Complete work orders and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, logging data in the Maintenance Management System. Record parts used on equipment in the system.
  • Perform job duties in compliance with defined management system requirements, ensuring product quality and stopping production to correct quality issues when necessary.
  • Reduce changeover times using quick changeover methodology and initiate blank work orders in the Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain high equipment reliability through circuit equipment inspection and troubleshooting, including walkthroughs, physical inspections (internal and external) of equipment such as silos, feeders, extruders, and material handling equipment. Requires ability to walk up/down stairs and ladders and inspect stopped equipment.
  • Perform welding, grinding, metal fabrication, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. Work as a Rigger for certain jobs.
  • Perform tasks that may require the use of a respirator.
  • Carry out other duties and assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience (ability to utilize/read a voltmeter) is highly preferred.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate to apply solutions after diagnosis of repair requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend/stoop repeatedly during a shift.
  • Push/pull up to 25 lbs. repeatedly during a shift.
  • Walk up/down flights of stairs repeatedly during a shift.
  • Perform tasks that may require a respirator.

Schedule

3rd shift (7pm–7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule.
