About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is a hands-on position whose duties include assisting with repairing, maintaining, adjusting, calibrating, and installing equipment to ensure proper operations. In addition, activities related to facility upkeep and maintaining the two sites in good working order.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to production flow by minimizing downtime due to equipment or parts failures.
- Performs facility maintenance activities within site safety policies and contributes to facility appearance.
- Under the direction of the maintenance/facility leads, performs required tasks to ensure the implementation of the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Assists with calibration activities as directed.
- Recommends replacement of equipment when necessary and provides input to the critical spare part list to be added to inventory.
- Assists in obtaining work permits, confined space issues, hot works, and line breaks.
- May perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- One to two years’ experience in maintenance or facilities work is desired.
- Experience in maintaining HVAC systems is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of specialty chemicals/pharmaceutical manufacturing and mechanical parts, equipment, tools, and supplies is preferred.
- Must be able to read, understand, and comply with work instructions; assigned SOPs and GMP guidelines; blueprints and vendor drawings.
- Must be able to maintain good relationships with co-workers and internal customers.
- Overtime may be required to ensure production schedules are met.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear; climb ladders, reach, and kneel.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision; color perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
- Travel between locations is required.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $34–38/hour. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.
