Maintenance Technician

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota-based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry dating back to 1970. Known for sturdy cultivators, efficient shredders, and niche equipment such as cover crop seeders and NH3 monitors, Hiniker also designs and manufactures high-quality snow removal equipment, including the Hiniker C-Plow, Scoop Plow, spreaders, and skid steer plows. In 2024, the company expanded its offerings with the acquisition of Daniels Plows.

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong experience in machinery and facility maintenance within a manufacturing environment. This role is located in Mankato, MN.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and machinery; perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Perform basic to advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and controls issues.
• Perform daily Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) duties.
• Work with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Interpret and apply technical codes.
• Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical power transmission equipment, including gearboxes/drives, transmissions, conveyors, and rollers.
• Use measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.
• Install, maintain, rebuild, replace, and troubleshoot centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Demonstrate electrical knowledge, including high voltage, fuses, VFD, relays, switches, and controls (PLC knowledge is an asset but not required).
• Apply knowledge of bearing types, including installation methods and limitations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic presses and systems.
• Perform machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment such as sheet lasers, lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and drill presses.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Welding experience (MIG and TIG) is a plus.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in a mechanical/electrical field and 1 year of experience as a maintenance technician, or 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician.
• Experience with plumbing, high/low voltage systems, and measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
• Ability to read blueprints.

Preferred Skills

• Manufacturing experience.
• HVAC knowledge.

Pay

$28–$36 per hour.
