Maintenance Technician

About the role

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work at our site in the Hampton Roads, VA area.

Responsibilities

• Help and assist in the maintenance and repair work for movable bridges.
• Perform light troubleshooting for a variety of machinery and equipment such as industrial machinery, electricity, plumbing, generators, etc., and custodial and lawn maintenance (picking up debris, sweeping, shoveling, etc.).
• Assist installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of vehicles, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment.
• Furnish tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; paint, perform general labor, clean work area, machines, and tools; hold materials or tools for other workers.
• Provide preventive maintenance service to machinery, generators, etc.
• Provide daily and weekly inspection reports of equipment.
• Be on call as needed.

Requirements

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; computer training with Microsoft Office background.
• Licenses, Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire; valid driver's license required.
• Background: Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check; submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
• Working Conditions: Considerable physical activity; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds; physical work >70% of job; exposure to potentially dangerous materials requiring safety precautions and protective equipment; almost constant exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
