About the role
The Toledo Lucas County Public Library is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of library buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of: HVAC systems, boilers, air handlers, pumps, motors, and associated auxiliary devices; electrical distribution systems and components including lighting/light fixtures, electrical panels, circuit breakers, switches, and receptacles; plumbing systems including maintenance and repair of pipes, pressure gauges, regulators, sanitary fixtures, grease traps, drainage systems and lawn irrigation systems.
- Performs carpentry including repairs to wood components and structures, furniture, doors, drywall, and windows, and performs painting as required.
- Performs inspections, repairs and/or maintenance of roofing systems, building exteriors, sidewalks, parking lots, grounds, and grounds equipment.
- Operates computer-based energy management systems and lighting control systems.
- Utilizes computer-based routine & preventative maintenance work order programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Four (4) years experience with skilled trades or facilities maintenance.
- Ability to meet the library’s vehicle insurance carrier’s requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and transportation as needed.
- Able to pass a drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
