About the role

The Maintenance Tech will modify, repair, and improve existing products, equipment, and assist in developing new or updated machinery, components, or products. The incumbent will assist with maintenance repairs and installations as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Train and develop Site Managers to ensure they can maintain 75% of their sites with preventative maintenance measures.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools (e.g., hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches) to hydraulic, electrical, and electronic testing devices.
  • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance per schedule to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions, consulting repair manuals or parts catalogs as needed.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Inspect gauges, valves, pressure regulators, drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance responsibilities.
  • Report any accidents related to people, equipment, materials, or other issues to the operations director as soon as possible.
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other machinery parts during maintenance or repair.
  • Ensure critical spare parts/inventory are on site.
  • Assist with acquisition/new site installations.
  • Determine material or replacement needs and plan repairs; take appropriate action to meet those needs.
  • Perform safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions.
  • Report potentially dangerous electrical equipment to the supervisor and take steps to resolve the issue.
  • Instruct employees on safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronic equipment and components.
  • Develop and maintain records related to electronic and electrical equipment and report project status to management.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to follow highly complex directions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and electronic system sections and wiring.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for long hours in all weather conditions.
  • Use of protective equipment such as ear plugs, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel 100% of the time.

Travel

Some overnight travel may be required, with the company covering travel costs including hotel accommodation and gas/food allowance.
