Maintenance Technician
The qualification requirements for this position include:
- A high school diploma and two to three years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic or a related occupation, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
- A driver’s license and transportation is required.
- Formal maintenance related training and certifications are desirable.
- If working on a boiler system, a state boiler’s license or the ability to obtain one upon employment is required.
Language skills required include reading, analyzing, and completing documentation required by city, county, state, or federal agencies. Effective communication through speaking, listening, and writing is necessary.
Mathematical skills are needed to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Reasoning ability is required to assess situations based on available data and information and make timely and appropriate decisions.

Punctuality and attendance are important, requiring regular attendance, reliability, and punctuality to be available during office hours. The position involves working on weekdays and weekends at the start and end of each month to handle apartment turnovers and repairs.
Working conditions include occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, moderate noise levels, contact with unsanitary conditions, insects, rodents, human waste, and noxious fumes.
Physical demands include working in cramped positions for extended periods, working on hands and knees, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, lifting up to 75 pounds, and moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
