Responsibilities
- Communicates with client and other facility occupants to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Reviews all work and assures performance in accordance with established customer expectations as well as health system standards.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on Hospital plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration facilities and equipment; assume independent responsibility for the overall maintenance of assigned Hospital facilities during second and third shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Respond to Hospital emergency maintenance calls after normal shop hours and on weekends and holidays; perform necessary repair work, which may include temporary repairs sufficient to secure the systems and facilities until permanent repairs are feasible; notify appropriate personnel if further action is required; log all calls received and document action taken.
- Conduct periodic inspections of designated buildings and equipment; when necessary, repair and perform preventive maintenance on general building facilities and electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and communication systems.
- Respond immediately to fire alarm systems; disengage electrical, water, or gas systems to protect building occupants and property; assist Hospital staff in removing patients, personnel or equipment as needed.
- Assist with major repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment as needed.
- Advise management of general condition of facilities and equipment and any unusual problems or concerns that may arise; make recommendations for facilities improvements or upgrades.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of maintenance and repair records in CMMS to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- 3 or more years of related experience and/or training
- 3 or more years of work knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing and heating systems, sanitation, electric systems, and fire and safety regulations
Skills
- Knowledge of building trades
- Ability to use tools and equipment
Preferred Education And Experience
- Associates Degree of an accredited trade school or combination of education and experience
Licenses And Certifications
- Certification/licensure in electrical, plumbing, high pressure boilers, and/or refrigeration
