Maintenance Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general building maintenance or related field preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry or general facility repair work
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of building systems, tools, and maintenance practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), email, and internet applications
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks assigned, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and facility upkeep
• Respond promptly to work orders and maintenance requests
• Aid with routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance or safety concerns
• Support preventative maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning of building systems
• Aid in setting up and breaking down spaces for operations, events, or program needs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards or major repair needs to the Lead Maintenance Technician immediately
• Aid with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
• Support outside contractors or vendors when they are on-site
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards
