Maintenance Technician

Lutheran Child and Family Services of Indiana/Kentucky, Inc. (LCFS) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1883. We provide residential and community-based services to children, families, and individuals across Indiana and Kentucky. Core Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and routine inspections of campus facilities
  • Aid in planning and documenting preventive maintenance schedules
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair facility and equipment issues
  • Complete repairs and replacements related to facilities and equipment
  • Assist with major repairs as needed
  • Respond to on-call maintenance needs during nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Identify and address safety hazards promptly
  • Follow safety procedures to protect residents, staff, and property
  • Assist housekeeping as needed to maintain clean and safe environments
  • Maintain basic maintenance logs and documentation
  • Support cross-training and shared knowledge of equipment and systems
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Capabilities

  • Ability to diagnose and complete general maintenance repairs independently
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to respond calmly to urgent or emergency maintenance needs
  • Reliability and willingness to participate in mandatory on-call rotation
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Minimum Qualifications

  • Age 21 or older
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated commercial maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in residential, campus, or institutional maintenance settings
