Maintenance Technician

About the role

This position performs hands-on, light construction work and custodial functions. Responsible for managing work orders and ensuring property is pro-actively maintained and resident's expectations are exceeded. Must also be available for on-call schedule. Requires a clean background and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Manage work orders
• Perform light construction and repair tasks
• Conduct proactive maintenance to exceed resident expectations
• Provide on-call availability
• Perform custodial functions to prepare units for move-in
• Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance (PM) schedule
• Work with outside contractors to ensure remodel and/or warranty work meets expectations
• Estimate time and extent of repairs
• Maintain organized material and supply inventories
• Demonstrate professionalism with coworkers and residents while working in and around apartment complexes
• Adhere strictly to confidentiality policies according to resident rights regulations and courtesy
• Use computer skills to complete and record work order information
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2–5 years of apartment maintenance experience or equivalent
• 5 years of direct customer service experience with residential or other clients
• 2 years of experience working with outside contractors to ensure remodel and/or warranty work is performed to expectations
