Maintenance Technician

Principal Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Implement & maintain the facilities preventative maintenance program
• Conduct scheduled inspections of production equipment (forge, grind, saws), forklifts, fluid levels, water flows, air flows, filters, environmental compliance, and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed
• Absorb equipment performance testing per manufacturer’s guidelines
• Perform corrective actions required for out-of-specification conditions as directed by supervisor
• Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, disposals, and repairs
• Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; provide others with updated information as required
• Make suggestions for changes that will help the plant achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety
• Supervise maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts inventory

Required Education & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one to two years’ work experience in Shop Maintenance

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient in reading and understanding instructions in English
• Able to closely follow instructions and read documents
• Able to communicate, verbally and written, with managers and coworkers
• Able to maintain quality practices and safety standards
• Able and willing to be forklift operations and safety certified
• Able to work overtime as required

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance
• Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
