Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III to join a growing manufacturing team in Petaluma. This is a senior-level maintenance role responsible for advanced troubleshooting, equipment reliability, automation support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert with strong electrical, mechanical, PLC, and controls experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, PLC, controls, and automation issues.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and related controls equipment.
• Lead equipment installations, capital improvement projects, and commissioning activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Mentor and train maintenance team members on advanced troubleshooting and maintenance practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, food production experience preferred.
• Advanced PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms.
• Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills, including VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Experience maintaining industrial automation and robotic systems.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, and root cause analysis methodologies.

Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and reading electrical schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to support off-hours projects and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
