About the role
The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of their Fremont, Ohio community.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for building systems and equipment
- Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Complete general building repairs and maintenance tasks
- Perform light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
- Paint and complete touch-up work throughout the facility
- Auxiliary with landscaping, snow removal, and exterior grounds maintenance
- Support furniture moves, event setup and breakdown, deliveries, and trash removal
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
- Follow all safety procedures and infection prevention protocols
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed
- Collaborate with staff and departments to support community operations
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent, minimum of five years of maintenance experience, working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance, valid driver's license with a clean driving record, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to build positive working relationships with residents, staff, and vendors
- Preferred: Experience working in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or faith-based environments, appreciation for the mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy, familiarity with Catholic traditions and culture
