Requirements
- Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
- Performs various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing the production equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Disassembles, overhauls, and rebuilds production equipment.
- Performs troubleshooting on production equipment as required.
- Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.
- Conducts inspection of in-process materials, parts, and tooling required for assigned area.
- Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, parts, and tooling required for assigned area.
- Relieves operators for breaks.
- Performs record keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
- Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
- Communicates pertinent information to next shift.
- Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
- Rotates through all workstations as needed.
- Reviews SOPs and control plans relevant to their area on a regular basis.
- May be required to work in other areas of production.
- Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, group, and the company.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in maintenance.
- Requires forklift, crane, and hoist certification.
Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Possesses all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge.
- Has a thorough understanding of the total process flow.
- Specialized skills in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding and electrical may be required.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments, perform basic mathematical calculations, and identify product defects.
- Computer Skills: Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Must be able to operate and functionally use a computer. May be required to use and understand electronic equipment.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
