Maintenance Technician

About the role

Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of all property and equipment at Rosie’s Gaming Emporium in New Kent, VA. Pay: $18.00/hour.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections of all facility equipment and systems; troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts as necessary.
• Performs moderate to complex electrical and plumbing repairs and modifications.
• Performs moderate to complex general carpentry and general painting, including spackling, hole repair, and drywall replacement.
• Assists with trash pickup and removal from the interior and exterior of the facility.
• Resolves problems within the position’s scope of authority; recommends solutions for issues beyond scope to supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certifications in related fields preferred.
• Two (2) years’ work experience in a related field; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a minimum of three (3) years of driving history.

Skills

• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical equipment, plumbing, commercial kitchen equipment, basic repairs, painting, and wallpaper.
• Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• May work in outside weather conditions; occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Work environment may vary in crowds, noise, flashing lights, and smoke depending on guest volume.
