About the role
The Maintenance Technician will preserve the good condition and functionality of Rockford's commercial and residential properties. Ideal candidates possess facility maintenance experience, effective communication skills, and an eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of Rockford's commercial and residential properties.
- Work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Successfully complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.
- Report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years working in a facility maintenance role or similar.
- Residential and commercial property management experience preferred.
- A minimum of a high school diploma.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Travel limited to downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- The ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Experience in the general inspections of properties/buildings and maintaining inspection logs for fire inspection systems, cooling tower treatments, generator inspections, and maintaining logs in compliance with all federal, state and city regulations.
- Grounds clean up, such as trash removal, snow removal and dispersing salt on sidewalks.
- Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the facility maintenance field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and supervise vendors (plumbers, electricians, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills and management of multiple tasks at once.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) 365.
Bonus Skills and Experience
- Web-based work order and/or Yardi experience.
- Certifications such as HVAC, Building Maintenance Technology, First Aid and CPR.
