Maintenance Technician

About the Role

River Hospital's Plant Operations team is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician with knowledge of repairing and maintaining all equipment associated with daily operations of the physical plant. The role involves maintaining hospital buildings in safe, livable, and workable conditions, including heat, lighting, power, air-conditioning, and other environmental factors. The technician will perform repairs, construction, and major additions to the hospital's physical plant and its contents.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of hospital equipment and facilities.
• Work in shop areas, hospital interiors, and exteriors in all weather conditions.
• Respond to 24-hour emergency call-ins.
• Occasional evening or night shifts as required.
• Adhere to a rotational call schedule.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent; trade or vocational school certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of progressively complex experience in multiple maintenance trades.
• New York State Driver’s license required.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Near visual acuity for reading blueprints and specifications.
