Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands-on maintenance and repair of production equipment and facility systems in a glass manufacturing environment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operations. This position reports to the Lead Maintenance Technician.
Essential Functions
- Perform day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure safe operation, equipment reliability, and minimal downtime.
- Assist with installation, repair, and adjustment of equipment, components, and machinery.
- Use diagnostic skills to troubleshoot, and repair automated machinery and plant systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and heating systems.
- Support and complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders using MP2, ensuring tasks are completed on time and accurately documented.
- Maintain plant utilities and infrastructure, including lighting, compressed air systems, water systems, and general building maintenance.
- Support work performed by third-party contractors and vendors, as directed.
- Manage maintenance inventory, parts, tools, and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Follow and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations; actively model safe work practices.
- Operate lifts, climb ladders, assemble heavy machinery, and work at heights as required.
- Communicate maintenance issues clearly, document findings, and ensure assigned tasks and projects are completed.
- Work effectively under time constraints, independently or as part of a team, to meet operational priorities.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and promote 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Identify process and reliability improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations to the Lead Maintenance Technician to reduce unplanned downtime and enhance equipment performance.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives related to safety, quality, and production support.
Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment, especially in glass manufacturing, high-heat processes, and continuous-motion production equipment maintenance preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and facility safety regulations.
- Automotive mechanical background is a plus.
- Lear manufacturing and/or 5S experience preferred.
- Must be able to read/write/communicate in English.
- General computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and documentation.
- Familiarity with CMMS (MP2 preferred).
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple work orders and PM tasks.
- Clear communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Self-motivated and able to make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet productivity goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to assist in other areas as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated accountability for safety practices and adherence to OSHA standards (OSHA 10 preferred).

Pay Range
$20 - $27 per hour
