Maintenance Technician

About the role

Maintenance Technician responsible for keeping all equipment operating through preventive and as-needed maintenance and documenting all repairs. The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, installation, repair, and upkeep of equipment, machinery, and facility
• Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts
• Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments
• Learn, optimize, and run all plant equipment
• Interpret manuals, drawings, and equipment schematics to adjust, maintain, or repair machinery properly
• Respond to production requests when mechanical issues are identified and troubleshoot problems
• Communicate with production to diagnose problems
• Perform preventive maintenance according to the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations
• Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency regarding time and resources
• Provide daily reports of activities during the shift
• All other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Technical certificate in electrical or machine maintenance or experience in a manufacturing environment is required
• Industrial, electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting experience is preferred
• Experience working on plastic extrusion equipment is a plus
• Necessary math skills: addition, subtraction, and multiplication to record accurate reports
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to periodically lift and carry up to 25 lbs; frequently lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Ability to work weekends and/or shifts with a strong work ethic and employment history
