Maintenance Technician
About the role
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our residential treatment facility safe, functional, and welcoming for clients, staff, and visitors. This role plays an important part in supporting the recovery journey at Bluff with Pyramid Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Complete general building maintenance including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Perform routine inspections of the facility, equipment, and building systems.
- Repair and install lighting, electrical outlets, ceiling fans, plumbing fixtures, water lines, and drainage systems as qualified.
- Maintain and repair facility equipment, appliances, and laundry equipment.
- Perform interior and exterior painting and assist with minor renovation projects.
- Complete preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and building systems remain in excellent working order.
- Maintain facility grounds through general upkeep, debris removal, and minor landscaping.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize repairs with facility leadership.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records when needed.
- Help ensure compliance with CARF and other applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Operate company vehicles when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in a behavioral healthcare environment.
- Complete required company training and assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or a related trade.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing multiple building systems.
Skills
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, and using hand and power tools. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
Work Environment
This position is based within a residential behavioral healthcare facility. The role includes both indoor and occasional outdoor work and may involve exposure to maintenance equipment, cleaning products, construction materials, and varying environmental conditions.
