POAH Communities is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Maintenance Technician. This individual will be a bright and dynamic leader with hands-on experience. The historic Chestnut Gardens Apartments are located near downtown Lynn, a small city just north of Boston. The 65 units at Chestnut Gardens represented 5% of Lynn's privately-owned subsidized rental housing when POAH acquired the property. Olympia Square Apartments is a 44-unit, 100% Section 8, fully occupied senior property in Lynn, MA - just north of Boston. Formerly known as the Sweetser Block, the building was constructed in 1874 and originally housed a shoe manufacturing operation.

The historic Chestnut Gardens Apartments and Olympia Square Apartments are located in Lynn, MA, and represent a significant portion of the city's subsidized rental housing. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring these properties remain safe, secure, and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff.
About Your Impact
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Insure a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Be knowledgeable of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Be aware of the condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately initiate action to correct unsafe conditions.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
- Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs.
- Insure all make-ready repairs and services are completed.
- Inspect and help coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services.
- Assist in keeping grounds neat and clean. Rake, sweep, shovel as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 1 year experience in apartment maintenance.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage as use of personal vehicle may be required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with weekends and on-call basis as necessary.
- Must be able to perform the following duties 66-100% of the time: be on feet, bend/stoop/squat/kneel, climb stairs, push/pull, reach above shoulder, climb ladders, grasp/grip/turn, finger dexterity, lift/carry up to 75lbs, be able to read and understand maintenance forms and warning labels.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Pay
The pay rate for this position is $23.63- $24.00 per hour.
