Maintenance Technician

About the role

Pickering & Company is seeking a Multi-Family Residential Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a team player with multi-family apartment maintenance experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain community grounds clean and free of trash
• Complete all work in a timely manner without sacrificing quality
• Maintain resident retention through preventative maintenance, work orders, and turns
• Maintain and track all community assets
• Respond to all after-hour emergency calls
• Respond to resident service calls in a timely manner
• Use electronic devices for tracking and logging work orders and daily email management
• Maintain professional behavior and effectively communicate with vendors and residents
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and develop plans to improve efficiency
• Be dependable with regular attendance expected
• Lift objects weighing more than 10 lbs and perform strenuous tasks as required
• Have dependable and reliable transportation

Requirements

• Experience in carpentry, general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
• CPO and CFC certifications required (or willingness to obtain within a set deadline after commencing employment)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work weekends and be on call
