Brief Description

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on equipment.
  • Develop maintenance SOP’s, and maintain proper records.
  • Aid with day-to-day facility upkeep and manufacturing/distribution equipment repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Reduce downtime on plant equipment, identify opportunities, and take measures to reduce waste.
  • Suggest cost-saving upgrades to equipment and changes to improve performance of equipment.
  • Source and order parts and supplies when needed.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events facility wide.
  • Oversee outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of SOPs and the Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Assists manager in overseeing major installation or repair projects.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Trade school courses or similar formal training from past employer required. Professional Certifications in electrical, hydraulic, PLC, welding, machine equipment, HVAC, or plumbing preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of full-time Industrial Maintenance experience in an industrial environment performing maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems preferred. Experience working with TPM or PM programs preferred. In-depth knowledge and experience working with electrical controls is strongly preferred.

Skills and Key Attributes

  • Self-motivated, demonstrated mechanical ability, blueprint understanding, ability to use measuring equipment, attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of general industrial maintenance, PLC programming, welding, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and machining in both theory and practical application.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Summary

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position operates on a 4-day work week, Monday–Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and offers a competitive shift differential of $2.00/hour. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment, performing preventive maintenance, developing maintenance SOP’s, and supporting continuous improvement activities.
