Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks including air conditioning, appliances, drywall, electrical, climate control systems, painting, plumbing, and pressure washing. The position also involves managing maintenance requests, inventorying supplies, and ensuring a tidy appearance in the leasing office and common areas.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace or install faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, and related items
• Power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, and drywall
• Maintain major household appliances such as refrigerators, range ovens, hot water tanks, and air conditioners
• Painting and carpentry as needed
• Manage all maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Monitor and maintain office equipment; inventory supplies and order replacement supplies, as needed
• Handle unit turnovers
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Five (5) years maintenance experience, preferably in an apartment building, condo, or high-rise
• Journeyman experience preferred
• Environmental Protection Agency certification preferred

Abilities

• Good customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to use power tools
• Ability to stand for long periods of time without assistance
• Ability to crawl into small or tight spaces and climb a ladder
• Ability to work independently or with others
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently
