PRODUCTION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN / GENERAL HANDYMAN All Book Covers Arizona, Inc. – Tempe, AZ Full-Time or Part-Time | In-House Position All Book Covers Arizona, Inc. is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Production Maintenance Technician / General Handyman to join our manufacturing team. We are looking for an all-around hands-on problem solver who can help maintain, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and perform preventative maintenance on our production equipment and assist with general facility maintenance. This is an in-house full-time or part-time position, not a freelance, contract, or as-needed maintenance role. When maintenance needs are caught up, this position will also assist with general production responsibilities as needed. Equipment & Maintenance Responsibilities Our production environment includes equipment such as: Foil stamping machines and pressesRF (radio frequency) heat sealing/debossing equipmentGluing and adhesive application machinesCutting and finishing equipmentProduction presses and related machineryPneumatic equipment and air linesSmall motors, switches, belts, bearings, rollers, heating elements, and mechanical componentsHand tools, power tools, and general shop equipment Responsibilities May Include Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical equipment issuesDiagnose equipment problems and determine practical repairsPerform routine preventative maintenanceAdjust, lubricate, clean, and maintain production machineryReplace worn or damaged components such as belts, bearings, switches, hoses, fittings, and hardwareAssist with machine setup, adjustments, and changeoversHelp minimize production downtime by addressing equipment issues promptlyMaintain an organized inventory of common maintenance parts, tools, and suppliesIdentify equipment that may require outside/vendor serviceCoordinate with management and machine operators regarding maintenance needsHelp establish preventative maintenance schedules and maintenance records General Handyman / Facility Responsibilities This position will also assist with general maintenance around our production facility, including tasks such as: Minor plumbing repairsBasic electrical troubleshooting and fixture replacement within appropriate skill/licensing limitsAssembly and installation of shelving, workstations, fixtures, and equipmentDoors, hardware, cabinets, worktables, and general repairsMinor painting, patching, and facility upkeepMoving, installing, leveling, or securing production equipmentGeneral shop organization and improvement projects PRODUCTION SUPPORT When there are no immediate maintenance or repair needs, this position will be expected to assist our production team. IDEAL CANDIDATE The Ideal Candidate Is Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with machineryExperienced using hand and power toolsAble to troubleshoot problems rather than only replace partsFamiliar with basic mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and machine componentsComfortable working around older and newer production equipmentWilling to learn specialized machinery unique to our manufacturing operationDependable, organized, and safety-consciousComfortable working independently and communicating with production staffWilling to jump into production and other hands-on tasks when neededResourceful and capable of finding practical solutions to everyday equipment and facility problems Previous experience in manufacturing, printing, bindery, packaging, fabrication, machine maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a similar production environment is preferred. Experience specifically with foil stamping, RF equipment, or gluing equipment is helpful but not required if you have strong mechanical aptitude and are willing to learn. POSITION TYPE Full-Time or Part-Time This is an employee position working at our Tempe production facility. We are not looking for contract, freelance, or on-call/as-needed maintenance services for this opening. Schedule, hours, and compensation can be discussed based on experience and availability.
