About the role
We are seeking a well-rounded Heavy Machinery Maintenance Technician with a strong foundation in general mechanical systems, combined with skills in hydraulics and equipment diagnostics. You will be our go-to technician on active job sites—keeping our fleet running smoothly through proactive routine care, broad mechanical repairs, and expert troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- General Mechanical Repairs
- Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul core mechanical components, including powertrains, mechanical drives, and clutches.
- Inspect, repair, and replace wear items. Perform basic cutting, grinding, and field welding/fabrication to repair cracked frames, brackets, or attachments as needed.
- Hydraulics & Diagnostic Troubleshooting
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and electrical wiring diagrams to isolate complex system faults.
- Use diagnostic software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and flow meters to pinpoint issues in electronic and hydraulic.
- Routine & Preventative Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Conduct thorough daily walk-around inspections to catch wear, leaks, or minor faults before they cause major breakdowns.
- Record Keeping & Safety
- Keep detailed logs of all repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and enforce strict job-site safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment mechanical repair, hydraulic servicing, and system diagnostics.
- Hydraulic & Diagnostic Skills: Understanding of hydraulic pressure systems, fluid power schematics, and 12V/24V electrical troubleshooting.
- Physical & Logistics: Ability to lift 50+ lbs., work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
