Logoplaste is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the plant team in Plainfield, IL. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role focuses on managing mechanical reliability for the plant and supporting the Plant Manager with all aspects of mechanical maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance, changeover, repair, and troubleshoot Husky hot runners and molds, including changeovers on Husky PET injection molding machinery, Conair dryers, vacuum pumps, PET materials, Sipa ISBM machinery, and Piovan dryers, blenders, and chillers.
- Handle electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V.
- Support equipment installation, wiring, and programming to meet specifications.
- Identify and resolve complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic issues on associated equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks based on schedules.
- Manage machine processing and recipe management.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, completing required reports.
- Maintain plant equipment for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors, ordering spare parts and services as needed.
- Implement operational improvements to reduce spoilage, downtime, and increase line speeds.
- Train others in equipment operation and safe product production.
- Adhere to safety policies, maintain cleanliness, and follow GMP and Global Food Safety practices.
- Update SAP PM entries and organize spare parts inventory as needed.
- Complete special projects and duties assigned by manager.
- Available for day/night shifts, either 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday or 12-hour rotation shifts.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma (or GED/High School Certification); prefer Technical School Certification.
- 3-5 years relevant manufacturing experience in plastics technology or a similar technical area.
- Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
Skills
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience and knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Good working knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office and SAP.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical system issues.
- Good “hands-on” working approach.
- Able to work independently, identify problems, and improve processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.

Pay
